Meet your guide
Hi, I’m Julie
I didn’t discover yoga until I was 53, when menopause left me struggling with joint pain, fatigue, stress and numerous other symptoms.
I came to yoga because I needed to feel better - and, rather unexpectedly, it changed my life. Gradually my symptoms disappeared and I started to feel like the person I used to be many years before.Â
It propelled me to became a yoga teacher specialising in Menopause Yoga - and perhaps that’s why I teach a little differently.
I know what it feels like to start yoga later in life, and I don’t believe menopausal bodies need complicated poses, hour-long classes or to be pushed harder.Â
Over 10 years, I’ve helped thousands of women discover exactly just how menopause yoga can help and now I’ve created this 31-day journey to help you experience the same for yourself.
I can’t wait to welcome you to the challenge.
I’m completely new to yoga. Can I still join?
Absolutely. The challenge is suitable for complete beginners as well as women who already practice yoga. You’ll be given clear guidance throughout, with options where needed.
How much time will I need each day?
Most practices are around 10-15 mins and designed to fit into real life. You won’t need to find an hour every day - consistency matters far more than how long you spend on your mat.
What if I miss a day?
Nothing terrible will happen! Simply pick up where you left off. This challenge is about feeling better, not adding another thing to your to-do list.
Do I need lots of yoga equipment?
No. You’ll need a yoga mat and a few simple props such as blocks, cushions or a bolster, a blanket and two tennis balls. Household alternatives can be used for many of them.
How do I access the challenge?
Once you sign up, everything will be available through the Yourself Yoga for Menopause App, with daily emails to let you know what’s coming next. You’ll also have access to our private Challenge Community inside the App.
Can I take part with an injury or medical condition?
If you have an injury, health condition or any concerns about starting yoga, please check with your doctor or appropriate healthcare professional first. Always work within your own comfortable range and stop if something doesn’t feel right.
